Goodbye 2014!

Well, here it is...the last look of 2014. I've had an AMAZING 5 months or so with you guys, and the blog has grown in ways I can't even imagine! I hope to do a lot more in the New Year! For this look, I went simple - the sweater and the jeans and the leather work together in ways that shouldn't even be allowed! I love cuffing my jeans over some oxfords - it adds a relaxed vibe to an otherwise serious look.

Denim on Denim

I am sitting here writing this essay in the middle of a study break - SO close to winter break! This is one of my favorite go-to outfits for sure: denim shirt, black denim pants. It's just a simple look and the accessorizing possibilities are absolutely endless! The light beige cardigan adds a soft touch to the black and the blue, and the sneakers are just...fun. That's why we wear shoes, right!? Such an effortless look!

Layered Up!

When I am trying to figure out new outfits, I always resort to layering a sweater over a contrasting tee. I love how the grey-purple tee pokes out to add an extra pop of color! The light-wash jeans also make the outfit a bit more interesting, instead of just regular jeans. Finally, my silver oxfords lightened up the entire outfit as a whole. Pairing a dark sweater with lighter accents always adds up to a great look!

Around the Waist

One of my favorite looks for the fall has definitely been tying a jacket or flannel around my waist - it instantly adds a whole new dimension to my look! I wore one of my favorite Madewell button downs and black ripped jeans that I find myself wearing way toooo often! I threw on my black slip-ons, and decided that the green army jacket was the perfect addition to my look!

Penfield

This flannel shirt is definitely a staple in my closet. It's from a collaboration of Penfield for Madewell,   and I absolutely adore how the inside is lined with a denim-looking fabric. It adds a whole new layer of definition and looks like you're laying without actually throwing on another layer. To keep things simple and really amplify the flannel, I just wore a simple black tee, jeans, and slip-ons. Perfect weekend look!

New, New, New!

Hey guys! Todays post is definitely a special one. First of all - we FINALLY got a new camera (yay for better quality!), I got a haircut, and I am sporting a new romper. New, new, new! I ordered this romper from Forever 21 and I am in love with it! I'm not sure what I would call the pattern, but I love the fact that it has long sleeves. Super great for fall! I threw my green army jacket over it, and wore my black riding boots with some long grey socks. This is definitely a perfect semi-formal fall outfit!

What's In My Bag?

You guys have seen me sporting this bag in most of my posts, and by definition of Rue La La's style guide for handbags, my bag falls under the"tote" category! Now, I could fit many, many, many things in this tote, including: a laptop, shopping bags, and sweaters. However, I am going to show you guys what is in my bag on a daily basis!

Well here you go folks...my bag! To be honest, I think that people take these posts too seriously, and I am here to show you what is actually in my bag! I keep lots of receipts, spare change, chapstick and various tickets to various events in my tote. The only thing relatively interesting in my bag are my three pairs of sunglasses I keep in my tote - the two featured in above photos AND my Ellen sunglasses! What would I do without them?! The world will never know... I also carry my wallet from Forever 21. It's a super nice faux-leather that looks all worn and distressed.

I hand-painted this tote myself, and in all of my genius-ness, I forgot to use fabric paint, so I haven't been able to wash the tote without ruining it. However, it does the job of carrying my stuff around, so who am I to complain?!

Anyway, if you are actually interested in stocking your purse-clutch-tote-thing-you-carry-your-essentials-in, go ahead and check out Rue La La's Style Guide! We could all learn a thing or two from it for sure!

La Superbe!

Hey guys! I am sure you have seen my pullover many, many, many times before this post. To keep things short, I was ecstatic when this sweatshirt was brought back in new colors in MadewellxSezaneParis collaboration! I obviously had to get it because I had painted the original sweatshirt. (Go check out the painting on my Instagram, @anniedreyer) I paired this with my simple ripped jeans and NB's for some added color. Also, I've finally got my ring status in check, thank God!

Proper

I was really excited about this look! I had to assemble a relatively proper outfit for an event, and this is what I chose (being a person who doesn't really "do" proper-fancy clothes). I wore my green army jacket over my feminine embroidered silk shirt from Madewell - the perfect mix of casual and feminine. I then paired the look with a pair of jeans without ripped knees - surprising, right?! To finish off the look, I wore my metallic oxfords for a bit of excitement. Metallic shoes over regular shoes any day! I kept my hair tucked under my jacket...trying out the whole short-hair thing but I am definitely not ready to commit to a dramatic hair cut!
